New Orleans Recap
I get a lot of questions about places we travel so I thought I would start doing a quick little blog on the places we go to and include hotel information, restaurants and activities ect… NOTHING super fancy but just a little recap, if you will, of what we did while we were there!
Our last trip to New Orleans was great! Long weekends with my two favorite fellas =) Michael went back and forth about hotels and we finally decided on The Pontchartrain Hotel in the Garden District. It was directly in front of a trolley car stop which we (mainly Grey), loved taking around! The hotel is awesome and has a great breakfast dining attached to it that we would eat at every morning. Holy cow did they have amazing homemade biscuits!
Mr. John’s Steakhouse. We went here for dinner on our first night. Its DIRECTLY across the street from the hotel we stayed at so it was really easy with Grey. Great steaks and staff!
Neyows– Just great, overall, southern food. Delicious!
Commanders Palace– Holy desserts! There were only two options and they both need to be ordered when you order your dinner… If you can’t decide Get. Them. Both. The Bread Pudding Souffle was life changing. I’m a whole new person. There is a trolley stop a couple blocks away so we took the St. Charles Trolley from right in front of our hotel to dinner! So easy!
Cafe Du Monde– One word… Beignets!
We didn’t do a ton of things since I had JUST had a retrieval and wasn’t feeling great the first few days. However, the street car or trolleys or whatever you are supposed to call them is a fun activity in itself! We rode the St. Charles line through the Garden District and looked at all the huge beautiful old homes. It will also take you right up to Tulane!
If you stay on just a few stops further you’ll reach the Audubon Zoo & Park! We LOVED this! The grounds are beautiful, the zoo is so nice and there is also an aquarium… our favorite! It was all very kid friendly and easy to get around. Such a great day =)
We also spent an afternoon walking around the French Quarter. Its worth the stroll and if you go there I would recommend stopping into Pat O’Brien’s for a Hurricane drink! I also would only recommend one… Michael got one and then one to go (🙄).
Hope you enjoyed my little New Orleans recap! Happy Traveling!
