Toddler Food Ideas

I’ve had a lot of requests for what I feed Grey or snack ideas for toddlers. He has days where he’ll eat anything I put in front of him and other days where the only option is Mac and Cheese. I usually make him start with whatever Michael and I are eating. If he likes it then perfect! If not I am not great on forcing the “this is whats for dinner theres no other option” rule. However, if he doesn’t like what we are eating and I make him something else then thats were I draw the line.

Grey is a snacker and needs said snacks in order to not be a hangry monster in the afternoon. Lets start with the items that require some prep work then we’ll move into my go to store bought. All of the recipes I’m sharing are listed below with step by step directions and ingredients!

First up, mini pancake muffins. You can make these with ANY type of filling and they are great to take on the go or pack as a snack. When I do them I make with a homemade batter (shown below) but you can definitely use store bought pancake mix. I add blueberries and that’s it!

Next, cheesy veggie quinoa bites. These are great because the taste is almost like a Mac & Cheese but it is filled with goodness that little man doesn’t even know he’s eating.

Vegetable fritters are another great go to! They look very similar to ‘pancakes’ and little man is able to hold himself and snack away. Once you have everything mixed together they are quick and easy to

Another good option for us, since little man loves pasta, is a homemade noodles with added vegetables. A simple and easy pasta salad! Toss them all in some sauce and fingers crossed that with every other bite he accidentally eats a veggie!

As far as store bought I will say that Grey loves the Dr. Praeger’s brand because he thinks they are tater tots and I love the Dr. Praeger’s brand because they are full of vegetables in said tater tots!

Another go to brand is Annies. They have a lot of his favorites from Mac and Cheese to snack bars. They also make bunny gummie snacks which are my nephews absolute favorite (he’s 5). I will say whenever Grey is full of feelings and in a bad mood our go to trick is ….when is doubt jus grab a go gurt.

Hope some of these recipes are enjoyed by your little ones and if not there’s always Mac and Cheese =) On one last note feel free to play around with my suggestions! You can add whatever flavors your little likes to make them more enjoyable!
